Navitas Professional works closely with a wide range of industry partners including host companies, industry professional bodies and education partners to deliver quality internships and work integrated learning to students nationally. In recognition of these important relationships, the Navitas Professional Perth team hosted the WA Industry Sundowner on October 2016 at the South Perth Bowling Club.

A total of 30 attendees were present at this inaugural event, including representatives from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, Curtin College, the WA Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the WA Police. The event provided an opportunity for companies, professional bodies, alumni and staff to come together for a night of networking and stakeholder recognition.

The event showcased a number of inspiring guest speakers who highlighted the importance of industry partnerships and the benefits of participation in Navitas Professional programs.

Rene Holtzhausen, Manufacturing Manager (Schweppes Asahi) spoke about her personal experiences of hosting Navitas interns and shared the positive outcomes of the experience for both interns, mentors and workplaces.

Navitas alumni, Ahmed Yosry also spoke about his life changing experience of completing the Navitas Professional Year Program in Brisbane. The program assisted Mr Yosry in gaining industry experience, which set him on the path towards gaining professional engineering employment with Enermech in Perth. He is now contributing back to his industry by mentoring his own Navitas interns and expressed his gratitude to Navitas and its industry partners.

As a special thank you to Navitas’ industry partners, a major highlight of the event was guest speaker, Sue Papadoulis from Publicity for Profit. Ms Papadoulis presented a thought provoking and informative session about the public relations and media industry, with a focus on how individuals and businesses can tap into readily available media resources to gain greater exposure, clients and sales.

The WA Industry Sundowner provided attendees with an opportunity to network in a relaxed environment and to recognise the contributions all stakeholders make to Australia’s future professionals.

Navitas Professional would like to take this opportunity again to thank all stakeholders for their hard work and support of Navitas’ students and programs.
